Aloha and welcome to Baldwin Robotics' website! We are in our fifth year of FIRST Robotics and second year of VEX Robotics. Our team is continuing strong with with more students, more mentors, more community support and a first-place alliance win at both the FIRST Robotics Competition in Honolulu, HI on March 24, 2012and VEX Robotics Competition at the Maui County Fair on October 1, 2011! We are abuzz with excitement to compete at the VEX World Championship in Anaheim, CA on April 19-21, 2012and then on to the FIRST Championship Event in St. Louis, MO on April 26 - 28, 2012.

The 2011-2012 FIRST Robotics build season officially kicked off on Saturday, January 7, 2012, with the announcement of this year's game, Rebound Rumble℠. This marked the beginning of our fun but intense six-week design and build season for our competition robot. The challenged this year was to design a robot to pick up and shoot basketballs into hoops and work together with other robots to balance on see-saw bridges - our distinguishing accomplishment!

We started our FIRST Robotics Competition season by competing at the Oregon Regional in Portland on March 8-10, 2012, and made it to the semi-finals. We came back to Maui and further refined our bridge tipper and ability to balance on the bridge with our practice robot. These enhancements lead to our #1 ranking at the Hawaii Regional Competition following the tournament's seeding matches - the first time a neighbor island team has ever been the top seed - and also served as Captain of the winning alliance. Last year, we were on the second-place alliance in both competitions we entered in San Diego, CA and Honololu, HI, and are thrilled to improve our standings over last season.
